July 22nd, 2009

Free Online Advertising should you use a website or a blog

I’ve often heard the question asked… which is better, a blog or a website, the answer… Well, both.

Read as we discuss the importance of setting up a profitable blog.

As you probably know, anybody can set up a blog. But you don’t just want a blog, you want a blooming blog .

My guess is that you are here because you want a shortcut, you want the blind man’s version, just point and click.

Today we will talk about how to set-up a word press blog. Why word press blogs for our online advertising strategies?

Because it gives you more options. Now, there is a free word press blog and a pay word-press blog.

What’s the difference?

www.wordpress.boost-home-business.com.g. www.wordpress.yourdomain.com .

Not bad but to really improve your chances to reach the top pages of Google you will want your own Domain name…E.g. www.mygreatidea.com .

Why do you need a blog? Let’s look at it like this. You have a (online or offline) business or are just starting one, and you want a cost-effective way to expose your customers to new products, upgrade in services, or price changes.

By creating a blog, you have just included one of the best ways to keep your business in front of your customers for free. This will beat the pants off of your competitors.

That’s why so many people are excited about online advertising.

You can do a lot for free. Adding your online strategies with your offline marketing strategies will place you light years ahead of those that don’t. And blogging is a very inexpensive way to do so.

Shall we continue; so today we will walk you through how to set up your blog. You will be up and running in 5-minutes, from start-to-finish, from the rooter to the tooter.

Once your blog is up, all you have to do is feed it or duplicate it or both.

The Free Version or Self-Paid Version

what’s the difference?

When we talk about the free version versus the pay version, it’s the difference between renting and owning.

When you pay for your blog hosting you’ll purchase a domain name, obtain web hosting, and install the blog on that host. With a free hosted blog, you’re renting space (for free) on the wordpress server.

The pay version blog web address will look like this: E.g. www.selfpay.com

The free version blog web address will look like this: E.g. wordpress.selfpay.com

Content

With the pay hosted blog, you have more freedom over the content you can use. Some restrictions may apply with the free version of the wordpress.

O.K .. this set of rules are for the free version of wordpress.

All you have to do is follow the1 through 7 and that’s it. This will only take you 5 minutes tops, then start blogging~

Now let’s get started…

Setting Up the Free Version of Wordpress

The set-up process for your blog is reasonably straight-forward. Here are the basic steps:

1. Go to http://www.wordpress.com

2. Click The “Sign Up Now!” Button

3. Follow the form: Create a Username and Password, Enter your Email Address and Agree to the Terms of Service and make sure the “Gimme a blog” option is selected.

4. Click Next

5. ON the following screen you’ll create your actual blog. For this (your first blog) I recommend leaving this page at the default values.

While website are pretty static traditionally. Website owners are learning to leverage their time by implementing blogs.

Blogs usually get a higher ranking with the search engines because they are updated on a regularly basis.

The reason for this is blogs are updated much more frequently with freshly updated content.

Normally, if you have a website and blog, you have an easier time impacting the search engines.
Google loves the consistent stream of new content.

You can also use the blog to drive traffic to your traditional website.

Lastly, the links from the blog to the traditional website can boost the SEO of the static website.

Blogging makes online advertising affordable.
